Data Release Engineer

Data Release EngineerDigital Intelligence Systems (DISYS) has been engaged to find a proven Data Release Engineer for a multi-year engagement with a foremost Healthcare IT Solutions Group based in Oakland, California.To be considered, the Consultant must be able to attend a new-hire orientation and work Oakland, California, once onsite operations resume.For this requirement, the Data Release Engineer must be a hands-on position and be capable of developing, documenting, and enhancing database releases, processes, and procedures. The Engineer should be able to track project deliverables and manage the choreography of dry runs and releases.This key resource must demonstrate attention to details, time management, accuracy, and solid communication skills. Applicants will be required to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment, as well as working and thinking independently, functioning equally well as an individual contributor and team member.Responsibilities:Provide hands-on expertise for CI and CD processes and procedures.Collaborate closely with the database team, database administrator, and applications release team to build and release database codes for dry runs and release platforms.Work with the technology group's Release Teams to ensure all release requirements and standards are followed.Document the present best practice strategies to ensure near-term changes are aligned with long-term release objectives.Ensure established code branching standards and procedures are followed.Collaborate with infrastructure and other application teams on software upgrades, disaster recovery and other efforts.Troubleshoot database build and deployment problems, suggest improvements and technical solutions.An interest in staying updated with latest advancements in technology.Develop custom tools and automation using PowerShell, SQL scripts as necessary.Review database deployment and migration scripts.Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience as SQL Server database developer and release engineer.Experience in the Healthcare domain or other industries manage data based on compliance guidelines.In-depth understanding and experience with Git, shell scripting and PowerShell Scripting.Experience with Red Gate tools such as SQL Compare, SQL Data Compare and SQL Source Control or similar competitive products.Solid understanding and working experience of CI tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity,Excellent written and oral communication skills.Full understanding of software development Lifecyle and DevOps best practices.Knowledge in Docker concepts.Self-motivated, team player, action-and-results oriented with the ability to successfully deliver under tight project deadlines.
