Corporate Controller

Company OverviewTotal Transportation Logistics (TTL) is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead and manage the accounting operations of a growing multi-subsidiary organization operating across the trucking, logistics, freight forwarding, and warehousing 3PL sectors. Headquartered in Corona, California, TTL is amongst several operating companies that support a nationwide transportation and supply chain network.The Corporate Controller will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions across the organization, including month-end close, financial reporting, and internal accounting processes. This role will ensure accurate, timely financial information that supports operational decision-making and executive leadership.The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented accounting professional with experience managing financial operations in a multi-entity environment, preferably within transportation, logistics, or related industries.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & ReportingLead and manage the monthly close process for all subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate completion.Prepare and review the monthly financial reporting package for executive leadership, including consolidated and subsidiary-level financial statements.Ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.Monitor financial performance and investigate significant variances.Accounting OperationsOversee day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The company operates using Microsoft Great Plains and the ideal candidate will have experience using this platform.Maintain the integrity of the company’s chart of accounts and financial systems.Ensure proper intercompany accounting and eliminations across subsidiaries.Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Financial Systems & Process ImprovementSupport the ongoing optimization and maintenance of the company’s accounting systems and financial reporting processes.Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and operational efficiency within the accounting function.Work closely with operations teams to ensure financial data aligns with operational activity across trucking, freight forwarding, and warehousing divisions.Compliance & AuditCoordinate with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and auditors as needed.Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Support preparation of materials required for tax filings and financial audits.Leadership & CollaborationPartner with the CEO and leadership team to provide financial insight and operational support.Supervise and mentor accounting staff as the department grows. Currently a team of 4.Collaborate with cross-functional teams across subsidiaries to ensure consistent financial processes and reporting.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or controller-level responsibilities.Experience managing accounting for multi-entity organizations.Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, and internal controls.Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains accounting system and Excel.Experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industries is strongly preferred.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.CompensationSalary DOE (+/-$120K)Health Benefits401KPTO
