Position Type:Athletics/Activities/CoachingDate Posted:3/20/2026Location:Greenville High SchoolDate Available:26/27 school yearDistrict:Greenville Public SchoolsTitle: Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball CoachLocation: Greenville High SchoolClassification: Athletic CoachReports to: Director of AthleticsSchedule: SeasonalSalary: $2,324 - $5,113 per season, based upon relevant prior experienceBenefits: This position does not meet the requirements for benefit eligibilityPOSITION SUMMARY: The JV Boys Volleyball Coach will foster player growth, sportsmanship, and teamwork while emphasizing fundamental skills and competitive play.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assignedTeach fundamental and advanced volleyball skills, techniques, and strategiesConduct structured and engaging practicesFoster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes growth and sportsmanshipWork closely with the varsity coach to align coaching philosophies and team goalsDevelop lineups and strategies for JV matchesSupervise athletes during matches, practices, and team eventsCommunicate effectively with parents, players, and school administrationOrganize team logistics, including transportation, equipment, and schedulingAssist in fundraising and community outreachCommitment to regular and predictable attendanceAdherence to Greenville Public Schools core values: integrity, collaboration, compassion, and responsibilityQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Previous coaching or playing experience in volleyballStrong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategiesAbility to motivate and mentor student athletesStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsKnowledge of MHSAA policies preferredSatisfactory background checkEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The employee must be able to:Stand for extended periods during practices and gamesSit for extended periods on buses for away games and tournamentsPerform and demonstrate volleyball skills and movements such as passing, setting, and hittingMove up and down the court, observe players, and actively engage with themReact quickly in fast-paced game play and to ensure player safetyLift and move volleyballs, nets, training gear, and other equipment (typically up to 25-50 lbs)Project voice loudly and clearly in noisy environmentsMaintain composure under stressThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this position.
