The Position
We are seeking an Aerial Arts & Acrobatic Arts Instructor to join our growing program. This role focuses on aerial silks, lyra, and acrobatic arts, teaching students ages 5–18 across beginner through advanced levels. Classes may also include strength, conditioning, flexibility, and performance-based training.
Our program emphasizes safety, strong technique, confidence, and creativity. Instructors are encouraged to bring their own personality and teaching style while upholding Stellar’s class structure, safety standards, and studio protocols. Opportunities for workshops and specialty intensives may be available in the future.
Job Responsibilities
Instruct students in acrobatic and/or aerial techniques across multiple skill levels (ages 5–18)
Create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment
Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual and group needs
Teach scheduled classes that begin and end on time, following studio structure and protocols
Rig and strike aerial equipment for classes; properly install, remove, and store all equipment
Clear the training area of climbers and equipment after indoor classes
Comfortably supervise up to three students in the air at one time
Enforce safety rules, class expectations, and studio policies consistently
Observe student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Report equipment issues, accidents, or incidents promptly
Attend staff meetings and required trainings
Secure reliable coverage when absent and substitute for other instructors when available
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a friendly presence at all times
Qualifications
Strong background in acrobatic arts and/or aerial arts (required)
Minimum 4 years of teaching experience with varying skill levels preferred
Mastery of at least one aerial apparatus (lyra or silks preferred)
Understanding of best practices for rigging, spotting, and safety
Ability to give clear verbal cueing and adapt explanations for different learning styles
Comfortable enforcing safety rules and class policies
Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable transportation and ability to pass a routine background check
Dance experience is not required, but a strong plus
Certification in First Aid and/or CPR is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain certification is appreciated
Preferred Qualifications
Acrobatic Arts Certification or equivalent training/certification
Compensation & Benefits
Starting wage: $20 per hour
Structured wage increases based on experience, performance, and continued education

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
