Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking Field Technical Service Technicians to provide on-site technical support for rail systems. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, supporting rail car builders, and ensuring system performance during commissioning and warranty phases.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide on-site technical support for rail systems at transit authority and assembly locationsTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and laptopsAssist with system debugging, testing, and commissioning activitiesPerform software downloads and updates as requiredSupport rail car builders and act as a technical liaison when neededApply and follow FTNA system procedures, including door adjustment processesVerify and confirm reported technical issuesMaintain accurate service records and data entry in company systemsWork independently in field environments with minimal supervisionRequired QualificationsMinimum 2+ years of experience as a technician or in a similar roleStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsBasic computer proficiency with experience in data entry and recordkeepingStrong knowledge of MS Excel and laptops/PC systemsValid driver's licenseAbility to work independently in field environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience in mass transit or rail industryTechnical certifications in mechanical or electrical systemsExperience leading or coordinating field teamsSkills & CompetenciesStrong hands-on technical aptitudeAbility to troubleshoot using digital tools and softwareProblem-solving and analytical thinkingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of accountability, integrity, and reliabilityEducationHigh School Diploma requiredTechnical certifications are a plusAdditional InformationField-based role with potential travel to transit authority and assembly sitesOpportunity to work on advanced rail systems and technologiesCollaborative and fast-paced technical environment
