To that end, under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Software Engineering and working in conjunction with a development team, the Senior Software Engineer will create user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining internet/intranet applications, leading a team of developers. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Position ResponsibilitiesDetermine design methodologies and tool sets; compile programming using languages and software projects including designing and conducting testsDesign and develop user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycleIntegrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting in addition to studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information serversDefine site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionalitySupport and develop application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunitiesAssist with Q&A and user acceptance testing to ensure applications can be used easily, quickly and accuratelyConsult manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledgeServe as a member of on-call rotation team in support of production applications, Web services, and workflow processAll other duties as assigned or requiredRequiredSkills and experience:After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applicationsAbility to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required4+ years of modern web development experience, with a proven ability to work independently and delivery high-quality solutions across the full SDLCExtensive experience with SQL Server, including database design, table creation, stored procedures, functions, and query optimizationExpertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices using ASP.NET Core, .NET 6+, and C#, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and securityProficient with Visual Studio 2019+/VS CodeStrong experience with modern front-end frameworks, including Angular (v12+), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3/SASSCommitted to maintaining high code quality by implementing unit and integration testsHands-on experience with both AWS and Azure, including services such as App Services, Lambda, API Gateway, Azure Functions, Key VaultExperience integrating AI-powered solutions using Azure Cognitive Services, OpenAI on Azure, AWS SageMakerSkilled in producing comprehensive technical documentation to support development, onboarding, and long-term system maintenancePreferredBachelor’s degreeLaw firm or other professional services organization experienceCompetenciesExceptional customer service skillsExcellent analytical, problem-solving and project management skillsAbility to balance best practices with business objectivesProven track record of excellent decision-making, integrity and working with IS management, business users and staffExcellent oral and written communication skills, including technical and user documentationStrong organizational skills and detail orientedAbility to work independently and under high pressure with tight schedules and deadlinesAbility to interact well with all levels of staffExcellent active listening skillsAmbitious and motivated team playerCapable of grasping new concepts quickly and without prior experienceAbility to multi-task and work in fast-paced environmentAbility to interact and coordinate with several teams to achieve objectivesAbility to solve problems independently and simultaneously, effectively managing multiple tasksProfessional demeanorCooley LLP offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits program. EOE.The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $170,000 - $250,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
