Forensic Clinical Specialist (Contract Position)

The Suffolk County Division of Community Mental Hygiene Services is seeking qualified Forensic Clinical Specialists to work part-time in the Behavioral Health Unit in the Suffolk County Correctional Facilities located in Yaphank and Riverhead.IMPORTANT DETAILS:This is a contract positionThrough a combination of education and work experience, Forensic Clinical Specialists offer expertise in several areas.KEY ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE:Cognitive-Behavioral TherapyRisk Assessment/Crisis InterventionPsycho-Education and Supportive CounselingIndividual and Group TherapyAssessment and treatment of Court Involved/Forensic PopulationsAdditional Position Information:The Forensic Clinical Specialist will possess a thorough knowledge of the principles and practice associated with some or all of the following skill areas:Cognitive-behavioral therapy; risk assessment/crisis intervention; psycho education and supportive counseling; group therapy; and assessment and treatment of Court Involved/Forensic Populations.
