We’re just getting started—join us on our journey to make mental healthcare accessible to everyone, everywhere.We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer II to dive into the most challenging technical issues on emerging opportunities, provide broad organizational leadership across all of engineering, and set the standard for Staff Engineering as a function at Spring Health.Please note that this is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation to be in office 2-3 days a week. Our office is located at 2 Embarcadero Ctr.What You’ll Be DoingEstablish and drive technical vision for all of engineeringBalance business, technology, and time horizon tradeoffs expertlyLead culture, initiatives, and tech strategy effectively across the entire company, spanning business and technology functionsDirectly lead Spring Health’s most challenging and high leverage technical initiatives, with accountability for measurable impactSetting the standards for engineering and organizational excellence in R+DMaintain industry trend awareness and Spring Health presenceIdentify and proactively take on emerging risks and opportunities across R+D, with accountability for measurable outcomesDirectly influencing technology and product strategyProviding leadership in incident response as an on-call escalation point or senior communications officerEngage directly with teams, at times spanning global time zonesMentoring and coaching Senior engineersWhat Success Looks Like In This RoleModeling Spring Health’s valuesRaising the effectiveness of the Staff Engineering cohort across R+DMoving the needle directly on company level business and technology strategic objectivesWhat We Expect From YouAt least 12 years experience as a software engineerTrack record of proactive and collaborative leadership styleTrack record of technical leadership, creating clarity from ambiguityAt least 5 years experience as a senior engineering leader in a mature tech organizationSpecific experience leading technology strategy and engineering initiatives with measurable outcomesSpecific experience as a culture driver and mentor for an engineering organizationMultiple technical domains of depth, and ability to be effective even in new tech domainsThe target base salary range for this position is $264,500 - $301,500 and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
