Geotechnical Laboratory Technician

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Construction Observation & Testing Division in Alliance, OH.Laboratory Technicians are responsible for performing soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregate testing in accordance with published standards and laboratory policies and procedures. Laboratory technicians are also responsible for record keeping, test reporting, and other duties associated with the laboratory operation. Technicians in addition to laboratory testing will also be performing calibrations, and maintenance of field and lab equipment.Responsibilities IncludePerform data entry, record keeping, test reporting, and other dutiesAbility to learn and apply ASTM, AASHTO, and other laboratory test proceduresPerform testing in the laboratory on construction materials to include Standard and Modified Proctors, sieve analyses, plasticity index tests, soil classification, and other soil, asphalt, and concrete test processingWork in the concrete room prepping and performing tests on concrete cylinders, cores, masonry block, and prisms for compressive strength testingBreak cylinders, prisms, beams, and cubes of concrete and masonryPerform maintenance and calibrations on laboratory and field equipmentPerform some calculations of test data under supervision of Laboratory SupervisorAssist with data back-checking and correctionsRequirementsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMust be able to lift up to 50lbs BenefitsWhy You'll Love Working With Us:We believe in taking care of our team—professionally, personally, and everything in between.
