SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. The candidate will design, implement, and support enterprise cybersecurity solutions while partnering with architecture and operations teams to enhance the organization's overall security posture. This role will provide hands-on engineering across multiple security domains, including monitoring, automation, and threat mitigation in a large-scale IT environment.Required Qualifications of the Cybersecurity Engineer:Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, OR 8+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience in lieu of a degree5+ years of experience implementing and supporting enterprise security tools such as SIEM, CRIBL, XDR, Vulnerability Management, DLP, and Endpoint Security5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level IT environments and system deployments5+ years of experience developing automation and integrations using scripting languages such as Python or BashExperience with security monitoring, log analysis, and supporting incident response effortsStrong understanding of security controls and the ability to validate and improve their effectiveness across systems and applicationsExperience designing or supporting security solutions aligned with compliance and risk management requirementsAbility to create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and implementation guidesStrong collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, architecture, and operations teamsPreferred Skills / Experience of the Cybersecurity Engineer:Industry certifications such as CISSP or Security+Hands-on experience with SIEM administration, tuning, and reportingExperience deploying and maintaining Linux-based security tools or sensorsFamiliarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CJIS, IRS 1075, and CMS MARS-EExperience contributing to or maturing vulnerability management programsBackground in security tool integration and orchestrationResponsibilities of the Cybersecurity Engineer:Support the implementation and ongoing management of enterprise security platforms, including SIEM, XDR, DLP, vulnerability management, and endpoint protectionAssist in developing and enhancing vulnerability management processes, including scanning, remediation tracking, and reportingBuild, configure, and maintain Linux-based security monitoring tools and endpoint solutionsDevelop automation and integrations between security and enterprise systems using scripting technologiesCollaborate with security architects to design and implement scalable, compliant security solutionsMonitor security events, analyze logs, and support incident detection and response activitiesWork Location: Hybrid in Columbia, SC (Preference for candidates who can work onsite versus hybrid)Compensation / Benefits:Full-Time Employment with SYSTEMTEC means a competitive salary + paid OT, PTO, holidays, health, dental, disability, and life coverage, 401K, tuition reimbursement and more.***Please note: SYSTEMTEC is not set up to employ workers in the states of California, New York, and New Jersey .***
