Job Title: C++ DeveloperLocation: Grand Rapids, MIJob Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior C++ Developer with 5–10 years of hands-on experience in C++ application development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern C++ standards, Linux/Unix development, software engineering best practices, and AI-assisted software development tools to build, maintain, and optimize high-performance applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain high-performance C++ applications.Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established coding standards.Analyze, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.Optimize application performance and resource utilization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.Utilize AI-powered development tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.5–10 years of hands-on experience in C++ application development.Strong knowledge of C++11/14/17 standards and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).Experience with multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and STL.Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills.Experience with Linux/Unix development environments.Knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices.Experience with Git or other version control systems.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar AI coding assistants.Experience with AI-assisted code generation, refactoring, debugging, and unit test creation.Experience with prompt engineering for software development tasks.Experience with AI-assisted documentation and code review.Ability to validate, optimize, and secure AI-generated code.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to mentor team members and share technical knowledge.Passion for continuous learning and adopting modern AI-assisted development practices.Desired SkillsExperience with CMake, Makefiles, or other build systems.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of REST APIs and network programming.Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Google Test.Familiarity with cloud platforms or containerization is an added advantage.
