This 32-bed stepdown unit provides care for patients with a wide range of medical and post-surgical conditions requiring progressive care-level monitoring.Unit Highlights32-bed Stepdown/PCU unitAverage daily census: 25–32 patientsMixed acuity: medical and pre/post-surgical patientsPatient Population: AdultKey ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality, patient-centered care in a progressive care settingMonitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changesManage patients requiring telemetry and stepdown-level careAdminister medications, including blood products and cardiac drips (non-titrating)Perform IV therapy, central line, and PICC line managementCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomesParticipate in rapid response and code teamsMaintain accurate documentation using Epic EMRFloat to other units within the organization as neededRequired QualificationsActive RN license (Ohio or Compact)Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown experienceExperience with similar patient populations and acuity levelsBLS & ACLS certifications (AHA)NIHSS certificationExperience with Epic charting systemStrong skills in telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretationPreferred SkillsIV therapy and phlebotomyCentral line/PICC managementRespiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care)Heparin protocols and insulin dripsWound care and wound vac managementPre- and post-surgical patient careAdditional DetailsFloating: Required within OSU systemCall: Not requiredWeekend Requirement: Every other weekendOrientation: 36 hoursFirst-time travelers acceptedTeaching hospital experience preferredFacility HighlightsLarge academic medical centerStrong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teamsOpportunities to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environmentAbout Hanker Systems IncHealthcare staffing at Hanker Systems Inc is focused on delivering the righttalent to support quality patient care.
