Facility Attendant The Facility Attendant creates lifelong memories and a healthier community for all to enjoy in Chaska with an emphasis on providing exceptionally safe and clean Chaska Community Center (CCC) facilities. A key function of this role is to provide great customer experience by ensuring clean and well-maintained CCC facilities that meet the needs of the community.Responsibilities:Assists with the maintenance of the ice arena and aquatics areas. With training, it can include operating ice resurfacing machines and testing pool chemistry.Responsible for the general custodial duties as well as assisting with facility maintenance tasks and projectsResponsible for arena ice maintenance and custodial dutiesResponsible for keeping all areas of the facility neat, clean and safe at all times. This includes sweeping vacuuming, mopping and general cleaningPerform set-ups and take downs for room reservations and special eventsPerform closing and opening duties as neededHelp enforce Community Center Policies and procedures.Perform light maintenance including, but not limited to: room set-up and take-down; general cleaning of the building, including windows, indoor playground, empty garbage, floors, spills, tables, chairs, and vacuum carpeted areas; clean surfaces in rest rooms and locker rooms; clean the fitness equipment and surrounding area; restock paper products; pick up outside litter; and snow removal when needed.Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.Qualifications:Age 18 years or older.Valid Driver license.1 year of related experience preferred.Ability to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.Previous work in a team setting preferred.Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipmentUnderstanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe and efficient use, storage and disposal.Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures and maintenance schedules.Ability to operate ice resurfacing machines and equipment would be preferred.Able to work in and around the public.Self-directed and detailed oriented.Equipment, Mental & Physical Demands:Equipment Used:TelephoneCustodial equipmentCleaning supplies and chemicalsIce resurfacing equipmentPPEHand and power toolsMental Effort:Attention to safety standards, procedures, and practicesPhysical Requirements:Operating medium weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, floor polishers, floor waxers, sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture.Varying and some prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, observing, climbing, balancing, and lifting, carrying and moving objects 80+ lbs.Working Conditions:Exposure to environmentally-safe cleaning chemicalsExposure to slip and falls on wet floorsOccasional work at heights and in confined spacesOccasional exposure to all weather conditionsAs a part-time City employee you may be eligible for the following benefits:457b Tax-Deferred Retirement planDepending on position:Pension through PERA with Employer MatchPension through Chaska Fire Relief AssociationLife insurance through NCPERS, if contributing to PERAChaska Community Center - individual membership (depends on position)Chaska Town Course & The Loop at Chaska: discounts on green fees and merchandisePublic Student Loan Forgiveness
