Sr Accounting Manager- Clinical Trial Accounting
Contract roleDuration: 6+ monthsHybrid with flexibilityAbout the Role:The Sr Accounting Manager (Clinical Trial Accounting) will lead R&D accounting close process with a primary focus on clinical trial accounting. This role partners closely with Clinical Operations, Clinical Outsourcing, CROs, and FP&A to ensure accurate and timely reporting of clinical costs.Qualified candidates brings a strong understanding of the clinical trial lifecycle, proactively identifies gaps in processes, and ensures completeness and accuracy in financial reporting.Key Responsibilities:Support month-end and quarter-end close processes related to clinical R&D accrualsOwn and maintain the monthly clinical cost tracker, ensuring accurate and timely capture of expenses, prepayments, deposits, and accrualsPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation in compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirementsReview CRO budget trackers and incorporate estimates into clinical tracking, ensuring alignment with contracts and study progressEvaluate contracts, purchase orders, budgets, and work orders to determine appropriate accounting treatmentEnsure invoices are accurately recorded against the correct POs, budgets, and work ordersPerform variance and fluctuation analysis on clinical R&D spend across programs, phases, and entitiesPartner with Clinical Operations to validate accrual assumptions and align financial data with study progressParticipate in regular meetings with CROs and Clinical teams to support a transparent and efficient close processRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.Big 4 public/private experience desiredAbility to review and interpret complex clinical vendor contracts and apply appropriate US GAAP accounting judgmentFamiliarity with AI tools and the ability to leverage them to automate processes and improve efficiencyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment supporting multiple R&D programs across entitiesEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.lhh.com/us/en/candidate-privacy The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: • The California Fair Chance Act • Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance • Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers • San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
