Senior Scrap Metal Trader (Non-Ferrous | USA Export Focus)Location: USA (Houston / East Coast preferred)Salary: $Negotiable + performance-based commissionImperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a global metals trading group to identify an experienced Non-Ferrous Scrap Trader focused on procurement and export from the United States.Our client is a well-established international trading house with a strong footprint in global scrap flows. Due to continued growth and increasing export demand, they are seeking a commercially driven trader with an existing network across US recycling yards and suppliers.The RoleThis is a front-office trading position focused on sourcing non-ferrous scrap materials from the US domestic market for export via container shipments to international destinations.You will be responsible for building and managing supplier relationships, negotiating purchases, and coordinating export volumes while maintaining margin performance.Key ResponsibilitiesProcure non-ferrous metal scrap from US-based recycling companies and suppliersManage end-to-end trading cycle including sourcing, pricing, negotiation, and export executionHandle consistent monthly volumes of 2,000–3,000 metric tonnes (minimum) for exportDevelop and maintain strong relationships with scrap yards, processors, and aggregatorsMonitor market trends, pricing movements, and arbitrage opportunitiesWork closely with logistics teams to ensure smooth containerised shipmentsDrive profitability through strategic buying and sales executionRequirementsMinimum 5+ years’ experience in scrap metal trading (non-ferrous essential)Proven track record in export-focused trading from the USAStrong existing network within US recycling and scrap supply marketsDemonstrated ability to handle 2,000–3,000 MT/month export volumes (mandatory)Deep understanding of global scrap flows, pricing dynamics, and container logisticsCommercially driven with strong negotiation skillsExperience working with or competing against major scrap exporters is highly desirableCompensationBase salary: $Negotiable (depending on experience and current employer)Attractive commission structure for high-performing tradersOpportunity to scale volumes and earnings within a growing international platformAdditional InformationWe are particularly interested in profiles currently working with established scrap exporters and trading houses operating in the US market, with a focus on containerised exports.If this opportunity is of interest, please click apply, or if you would like to discuss similar roles in the commodities space, please contact Imperium Commodity Search in confidence via usa@imperiumcs.com.
