Production Supervisor II (2nd Shift | Union Environment | Power Generation)📍 Olive Township, MI (Onsite – 5 days/week) 🕒 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM / 12:00 AM 🔄 Training on 1st Shift, then transition to 2ndAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking a Production Supervisor II to oversee operations across two independent coal-powered steam plants. This is a high-impact leadership role on the back shift, where you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.This role is ideal for a hands-on, self-driven leader who thrives in industrial environments and is comfortable managing a union workforce with minimal oversight.What You’ll Be DoingLead and supervise 5–8 union employees per shiftCoordinate daily operations across two separate plant facilitiesAssign work, manage priorities, and ensure production/maintenance goals are metBuild and manage shift schedules, including coverage for call-ins and absencesAct as the primary decision-maker on 2nd shiftAddress workforce, safety, and operational issues in real timeEscalate critical production or personnel matters as neededMaintain administrative reporting and workforce documentationWork EnvironmentCoal-powered steam plant settingIndustrial, physically demanding environmentTemperatures can exceed 100°FOversight role (no hands-on equipment operation required)What We’re Looking ForProven experience in a supervisory or leadership roleExperience working in a union environment strongly preferredBackground in power generation, utilities, oil & gas, foundry, or heavy manufacturingAutomotive manufacturing experience also welcomedStrong knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) proceduresAbility to work independently and lead without direct supervisionProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)SAP experience is a plusDegree not required — experience matters mostMust-Have Traits (Non-Negotiables)✔ Proven supervisor experience ✔ Self-starter with strong initiative and energy ✔ Ownership mindset — able to independently lead and manage operationsWhy This Role?High visibility and autonomy on back shiftOpportunity to lead in a critical energy production environmentStrong, established team with diverse industrial backgroundsHands-on leadership experience in a union setting
