A well-established manufacturing operation in the metal fabrication and manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team at its Tulsa, Oklahoma facility. This is a fully onsite role and a key position within the organization, responsible for overseeing all financial operations and providing strategic financial leadership to support the company’s long-term growth.The Controller will serve as the primary financial steward of the business, partnering closely with the General Manager and executive leadership to drive sound financial decision-making, operational efficiency, and scalable financial processes. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, strong manufacturing and job costing expertise, and proven experience leading accounting teams in a plant environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide financial leadership and oversight for all accounting and finance functions, including month-end close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.Serve as the right hand to the General Manager, offering actionable financial insights and guidance to support operational and strategic decisions.View the business from a high-level (1,000 ft.) perspective, while maintaining the ability to dive into details as needed.Lead the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term growth strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Maintain ownership of all financial controls, procedures, and policies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.Oversee and mentor the accounting team, currently including a Senior Accountant, with plans to grow and scale the team over time (AR, AP, Staff Accountants, etc.).Drive strong job costing practices, with a deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures and profitability analysis.Manage and analyze CapEx activity, including depreciation, fixed assets, and manufacturing investments.Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve financial visibility, cost controls, and margin performance.Leverage the company’s ERP system to ensure accurate data, reporting efficiency, and process optimization.Required QualificationsPrior experience serving as a Controller or in a senior-level accounting leadership role.Strong job costing experience within a manufacturing environment.Background in manufacturing, with metal fabrication or metal manufacturing strongly preferred.Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams, including AR, AP, and Staff Accountants.Hands-on experience working with an ERP system.High attention to detail and strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work full-time onsite at the Tulsa manufacturing facility.Preferred / Nice-to-HaveExperience working in the steel industry.Prior hands-on experience with Epicor ERP.
