The organization serves millions of customers and plays a critical role in power generation, distribution, and infrastructure development across its markets.We're seeking a Senior Controls Engineer based in Detroit, to support operations within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role working closely with plant personnel to drive reliability, improve processes, and support ongoing maintenance and project initiatives.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology5+ years of experience in heavy industrial, chemical, petrochemical, or similar manufacturing environmentsStrong field troubleshooting experienceAllen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, SLC 500)DeltaV DCS systemsBurner Management Systems (BMS)Data historians (e.g., AVEVA PI) and CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo)Continuous improvement methodologiesKey ResponsibilitiesSupport preventative, corrective, and project-based electrical & instrumentation maintenanceOversee PLC and DCS systems to ensure reliable plant performanceUpdate control schemes, manage software updates, and support cybersecurity initiativesMaintain environmental compliance systems (CEMS/COMS)Coordinate power distribution during outages or infrastructure maintenancePartner with engineering and IT teams on equipment procurement, data historians, plant communications, and system improvementsMentor and train technicians on controls, troubleshooting, and best practicesSupport continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiativesThis role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding industrial setting, including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and varying outdoor conditions.Work Authorization: This position is only open to U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders (Permanent Residents).
