Professional Expert - Audio/Visual Technician

PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT A RESUME AND COVER LETTER WITH YOUR APPLICATION Hourly Rate: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience  Shifts: Events occur during the week Mondays - Sundays between 7:00 am - 12:00 am. This hourly, part-time position provides support for on-campus events. Duties include setting up, operating, and taking down installed and portable audio-visual equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, and computers. The role assists event organizers and campus staff to ensure events run smoothly, with AV systems functioning properly and on schedule. This position offers flexible days and hours: 90% of shifts are scheduled with four weeks' notice, while 10% of shifts may be scheduled with 0-14 days' notice. Shifts range from 3 to 8 hours, and events take place in large lecture halls, conference rooms, and outdoor performance areas. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Setup, operation, and takedown of audio-visual equipment including portable and installed live sound systems, microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, lecterns, and laptops Customer service, good communication skills, ability to assist and work with other people REQUIREMENTS Reliability. On time for all events Familiarity with AV conference presentation systems Basic understanding of live audio systems Ability to follow instructions to complete a task Excellent customer service and communication skills. PC/MAC knowledge, familiar with Microsoft PowerPoint. Regular use of email for communication Ability to work from ladders up to 6 feet in height Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds Ability to move equipment in a reasonable amount of time Ability to stand for long periods of time
