Quality Technician

Job Title: Quality Technician Reports to: QC Manager Job Type: Salaried SUMMARY Supports daily operations of the Quality Dept. by performing Quality Assurance and Control activities as assigned. REQUIRED COMPENTENCIES Review incoming orders for technical clarity and communicate customer requirements Review Customer Part reports for understanding and interpretation to ensure proper manufacturing operations Lead or assist in preparing customer SMDRs and Other Quality Documentation Review and approve COCs (Certificates of Conformance) Assist Quality Control in Dimensional Inspection Report Completion and Review Review Final Customer Documentation Packages to ensure accuracy and streamline Customer approval Inspection and analysis of work in progress, finished parts and documentation for incoming materials Assist production/manufacturing in the interpretation of customer quality requirements Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas. Follow company safety & security guidelines Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job. Other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, prints and specifications Perform assignments with limited supervision in a team environment and/or independently Ability to navigate company software (Global Shop) for informational research Knowledge of test equipment and test process mechanical properties hardness, tensile, chemistry, yield, etc. Manifest basic math skills to the level needed for process (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Strong attention to detail Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate, both written and verbally to team members and/or management To work overtime as required, including some weekends A positive and amicable demeanor to be able to work under tight deadlines and with various personalities DESIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Experience with ISO and/or other Quality Standards Proficient in the use of typical machine shop measuring instruments General computer skills (Word/Excel) Global Shop GD&T Bachelors Degree in a technical competency Preferred 2-5 Years Previous Experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting up to 30 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction. The employee is frequently required to sit while performing the duties of this job (approx. 80%) walk (20%) The employee is expected to lift or move materials (5% of workday).
