General Ledger Accountant 💲 $85,000 Base + Overtime + Full BenefitsPosition OverviewA growing and well-established organization is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its accounting team in Westhampton Beach, NY. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong general ledger experience who can work independently, manage month-end close responsibilities, and contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accrual accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and closing procedures, along with strong Excel and ERP system skills.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare journal entries, accruals, and monthly account reconciliationsSupport month-end and year-end close processes including trial balance review and financial reportingPerform bank reconciliations and analyze balance sheet accounts for accuracy and completenessMaintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedulesAssist with preparation of financial statements, audit schedules, and supporting documentationSupport accounts payable, cash posting, and payroll-related accounting activitiesResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies and variancesUtilize ERP and accounting systems to maintain accurate financial records and reportingCollaborate with leadership and operational teams to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencyQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred3+ years of accounting or general ledger experience requiredStrong understanding of debits, credits, accrual accounting, and financial reportingExperience with month-end close and reconciliations requiredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPsExperience with ERP/accounting systems; Great Plains experience is a plusAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsCompensation & BenefitsBase salary around $85,000Overtime eligibility with strong earning potentialMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysStable, team-oriented work environment with long-term growth potential
