Position Type:ClassifiedDate Posted:3/5/2026Location:Facilities & MaintenanceLincoln County School District is accepting on-line applications for a position for a Lead Grounds Worker.This is a temporary position for a limited duration of less than 6 months.The primary purpose of this position is to perform skilled maintenance and repairs on District grounds and grounds equipment as required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following are examples of duties. However, any one position may not cover all duties listed; examples may not cover all duties an employee is expected to perform; and other duties may be assigned.Performs journeyman level maintenance and/or repairs on equipment, vehicles, irrigation systems, and playground equipment.Performs site/field inspections.Estimates cost of work orders, and order materials and supplies necessary.Completes and maintains a variety of written records.Keeps company vehicle, office and work shop clean and in safe condition.Performs grounds maintenance such as tree trimming, shrub trimming, lawn care, weed eating, weed control, storm debris cleanup, insect control, and repairing athletic fields.Operates and performs repairs on heavy equipment as needed.Performs maintenance and painting of parking lots.Performs asphalt/concrete cutting and repair.Sets up and delivers chairs and equipment for school district functions.Arranges moving and disposing of district surplus.Performs parking lot maintenance and painting.Services and repairs district emergency generators.Services and repairs district trash compactors.Moves furniture and books as needed.Qualified applicants will be asked for an interview and must provide a resume and at least 2 letters of recommendation. Upon selection, employees will be required to complete fingerprinting and a background check.This is an 8 hour per day positionStarting Salary: $25.51 - 28.16/hrClosing Date: All classified positions are posted for 5 business days, but may be extended if not filled within the 5 day period.
