Job DescriptionC7 Blasters Wanted – Prep the Steel That Builds the Fleet\nWe are actively hiring C7 Certified Blasters to support ongoing shipyard projects throughout Hampton Roads. This role is perfect for experienced surface prep professionals who understand that great coatings start with great blasting.\nIf you're detail-oriented, safety-focused, and take pride in preparing steel to shipyard standards, this is your opportunity to put your certification to work on long-term marine construction projects.\n C7 Blaster Responsibilities:\n\n\nPerform abrasive blasting on shipyard structures including hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, and steel assemblies\n\n\nPrepare surfaces to required shipyard and coating specifications (SSPC/NACE standards as applicable)\n\n\nOperate blasting equipment safely and efficiently\n\n\nInspect surfaces for cleanliness, profile, and readiness for coating\n\n\nContain blasting areas and follow environmental controls\n\n\nWork in confined spaces, elevated areas, and industrial environments\n\n\nFollow all shipyard safety procedures and PPE requirements\n\n\nCoordinate with painters, supervisors, and production teams to meet schedules\n\n\n C7 Blaster Qualifications:\n\n\nCurrent C7 Blaster Certification required\n\n\nPrior shipyard or industrial blasting experience strongly preferred\n\n\nKnowledge of surface preparation standards and abrasive media\n\n\nPhysically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing demanding work\n\n\nComfortable working at heights and in confined spaces\n\n\nFamiliarity with OSHA shipyard safety practices\n\n\nReliable transportation and strong attendance\n\n\n What We Offer:\n\n\nCompetitive hourly pay based on experience and certification\n\n\nOvertime opportunities\n\n\nLong-term shipyard assignments\n\n\nWeekly pay\n\n\nSupport from recruiters who understand skilled trades\n\n\nAdvancement opportunities within shipyard operations\n\n
