Representative examples include air and ballistic missile defense, fire support, close combat, manned and unmanned aviation, command, control and communications; interoperability, intelligence/surveillance, and automatic test equipment.DutiesIdentifying and managing electrical/electronic hardware requirements.Performing circuit design, analysis, simulation and component selection for high availability, high reliability and low Size, Weight and Power (SWAP) environments.Collaborating with PCB Layout and Circuit Card Assembly TeamsPerforming initial checkout and debugging of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies.Generating and Reviewing documentation for a Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the design, development, unit test, and integration of hardware/firmware components. Assessing technical and integration risk and identifying mitigations. Witnessing integration and test activities, reviewing test plans and procedures, reviewing and adjudicating Deficiency Reports.Reviewing relevant milestone contract deliverables and providing recommendations across the life cycle of development efforts. QualificationsRequired Education/ExperienceBS in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus a minimum of nine (9) years of experience; six (6) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.Required SkillsKnowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areasEmbedded microcontroller hardware/firmware design and developmentFPGA firmware design, development, verificationHigh speed digital design (e.g. DDR3/DDR4)Analog design for data acquisition systemsSwitch mode power supply designMotor controlDesign for EMC (MIL-STD-461) and Environmental (MIL-STD-810) complianceNational Instruments LabViewProficient using MS Office suite, MS Visio, schematic capture program such as Altium Designer, circuit simulation program such as PSpice. Excellent communication skills and mechanical aptitude.Design experience of military radar systems, electronic countermeasures, weapon fire control systems, missile launcher electronic systems and/or missile interface simulators.
