UNPAID Internship - 2026 Summer Cohort for students/Post-Grads in Mental health, Social Work, Psychology

This is an unpaid internship - please do not apply if you are seeking a salary or any other form of remuneration from us. For clarity, this is not a clinical position with any clinical hours toward Masters or other degrees or certifications unless school has that allowance, however you do get your own chance to run one of our experiences (provided you are available for pre-runs on Wed).The Commons XR delivers immersive, AI-powered behavioral health experiences that improve mental wellness, enhances clinical efficiency, provides visual progress graphs, as well as fostering an inclusive, culturally competent environment for diverse and neurodivergent communities. We strive to make Evidence-Based Treatment (EBT) better. We are looking for a couple of aspiring interns, whom are in the counseling or mental health space (especially if you have some clinical experience) that are doing/have done psychology or counseling training, and are able to review, comment and critique our process, data, and research, based on our trial runs every Friday (9-11 AM PST). If you are in BCBA, CBT or similar programs, this might be a good fit. In some school districts, school counselors have a critical role in ensuring schools provide a safe, caring environment. You may be able to run one of our VR experiences (no headset required) during our Friday 9AM PST runs, but you must be available for our preliminary test run on Wed afternoon PST. You will be working with our other interns as a group. We are on the forefront of technology (AI and VR), telehealth and mental health. Come see what the future holds for you! Finally, you should have the passion to want to make a difference in this space; we want to make a difference along with you!Key aspects we’d be looking for:Knowledge of or studies in neuroscience, neuropsychology and/or behavioral sciences.Knowledge of EBT therapy types (CBT, ABA, DBT, ACT, etc)Desire in designing clinical trials to examine findings.Comfortable with fields of education, psychology, and/or social sciences.Nice to have:Experience in designing clinical trials to examine findings.Conducting interdisciplinary research, ideally in the fields of education, psychology, applied mathematics, and/or social sciences.Experience researching in either an academia or industry setting.Ability to collate research articles and notate key insights.Willingness to present research findings to the team and discuss new directions in research, data, and other departments.Experience with Grants.gov (we are also open to grant opportunities with educational institutions in this space).
