Electrical & Harness Design Engineer

HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self-motivated Electrical & Harness Design Engineer to lead product‑level cable harness design, PDU development, and system‑level electrical architecture for industrial and semiconductor equipment. Job Title: Electrical & Harness Design Engineer Job ID: 1640378BR Position Type: Fulltime Location: Milpitas, CA Responsibilities: Own product‑level cable harness, PDU, and electrical design, including routing, BOM, installation, and documentation. Design control systems and safety interlock circuits for high‑reliability equipment. Perform component selection (cables, wires, connectors, protection devices, accessories). Execute power budget calculations, load analysis, and electrical component sizing. Design harnesses for SEMI equipment, PDUs, server racks, and process tools. Develop electrical schematics and system interconnect diagrams. Support thermal testing, power measurements, and design validation. Lead material procurement, vendor coordination, and prototype build support. Interpret high‑level system requirements and convert them into practical electrical solutions. Ensure compliance with NFPA, CE, SEMI S2/S8, and maintain awareness of cleanroom standards. Technical Expertise Strong in electrical design, power distribution, load calculations, grounding, and PDU/rack design. Expert in cable harness design, routing, shielding, EMI/EMC, and connector selection. Skilled in safety interlock circuits, control systems, and analog/digital I/O integration. Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical/EPLAN for schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnects. Knowledge of NFPA, CE, SEMI S2/S8, cleanroom standards, thermal testing, and troubleshooting. Compensation and Benefits A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
