Quality Technician - III
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician - III to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the production process by performing precise inspections, audits, and data analysis also maintaining and administering gauge validation and supporting the calibration system. The Quality Technician will also be responsible for performing system and process audits to ensure product quality and adherence to written procedures, performing metallurgical analysis of samples as needed. Your expertise will support compliance with industry regulations while maintaining rigorous quality systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing operations, uphold quality assurance standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
First responder for all quality issues. Assess situation and react accordingly.
Performs product testing using a variety of methods. Prepares metallurgical samples for analysis using grinding, polishing, mounting, and cutting techniques. Performs or supports various metallurgical testing techniques to standard method specifications
Maintains laboratory tools, equipment, and instrumentation to ensure safety and reliability.
Maintain all gage calibrations to ensure all gages are accurate
Issue gauging for overall operation of plant production and line changeovers, supporting the calibration system
Documents and reports test results accurately in compliance with USEV standards.
· Reviews material certifications and ensure chemistry meet standards.
Adheres to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
Audits products and processes to ensure system compliance with USEV requirements/specifications.
Helps provide input on causes or reasons for quality problems and recommends process changes if necessary.
Supports Production in a manner that maximizes efficiency
Collect and analyze data related to product quality, process performance, and defect trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in internal and external quality audits, documenting findings accurately and following up on corrective measures.
Skills
2-year Degree or trade school diploma
Strong computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.
Excellent organizational skills
Superior problem-solving ability
Certified Quality Technician through ASQ
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends or deviations.
Ability to conduct comprehensive quality audits and support quality management initiatives effectively.
Strong professional interpersonal and communication skills for documenting findings clearly and collaborating across departments.
Education / Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years quality and/or manufacturing assembly experience
