Senior Structural Engineer (Florida P.E.)

We're known for clear, unbiased engineering, practical solutions, and documentation that clients, reviewers, and contractors can understand and rely on.Our purpose is simple:Keeping you and yours safe indoors.Our work lives at the intersection of structural engineering and inspections, supporting homeowners, property managers, attorneys, real estate professionals, contractors, and municipalities across Florida.The RoleThis is a senior, hands-on engineering role; not a people-management position.As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will provide technical authority, perform peer reviews, and certify engineering deliverables. Depending on workload and project needs, you will be expected to be flexible and support one or more of the following:Structural inspections and design consultationsCondominium inspectionsProject leadership for residential and commercial engineering workThe role is primarily in-office, with potential for site involvement.What You'll DoEngineering & Technical AuthorityPerform structural analysis and design for Florida residential and commercial projectsReview, certify, sign and seal engineering drawings, calculations, letters, and reportsServe as a peer reviewer to ensure accuracy, constructability, and Florida Building Code complianceApply sound engineering judgment aligned with Florida-specific conditionsFlexible Engineering & Inspection SupportParticipate in structural inspections and design consultations when neededAssist with condominium inspections when projects originate from associations or property managersTranslate inspection findings into clear engineering conclusions, reports, and design solutionsSupport Beryl's role as a neutral, unbiased engineering consultantProject Leadership & CollaborationLead assigned projects from kickoff through final deliverables when requiredCoordinate with drafters, design assistants, inspectors, and admin staff to maintain scope, schedule, and qualityParticipate in weekly design and coordination meetingsProvide technical direction through collaboration-not supervisionResidential & Florida-Specific Expertise (Critical)Strong experience with Florida residential construction is requiredApply knowledge of wood-frame, masonry, foundations, and lateral load systemsAddress wind loads, exposure categories, coastal considerations, and jurisdictional requirementsProduce permit-ready documents aligned with local reviewer expectationsWho You AreFlorida-licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), in good standing7+ years of structural engineering experience with strong Florida residential exposureComfortable with engineering design, inspections, and project leadershipConfident sealing work and standing behind engineering decisionsClear communicator with clients, inspectors, and internal teamsAble to work primarily in-office in Tampa, with flexibility for site visits as neededWhy BerylAt Beryl, senior engineers are trusted to apply judgment while maintaining process.You'll have:Variety in your work: engineering, inspections, and/or project leadershipA strong engineering + inspection platformProjects that protect homes, buildings, and communities across FloridaA culture built on clarity, accountability, and respect for engineering expertiseWe offer competitive compensation and a full benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k), and an Employee Assistance Program.
