Lead Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic Radiology

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA)'s Imaging Department proudly provides advanced medical imaging services led by a team of board-certified physicians, certified technologists, and service-oriented staff. We are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), which demonstrates our commitment to the safest and best quality care possible.Position OverviewThe role of the Lead Technologist on our Diagnostic Radiology team is to perform and oversee routine and emergency site specific radiologic procedures on a daily basis. They serve as the site liaison between Radiology and other departments. A qualified candidate must be capable of working independently, unsupervised and in a fast paced setting, as well as possess good communication skills to teach, direct, correct and inspire employees. This position requires a wide range of technical knowledge and past performance of excellence in technical ability. The average workday will consist of at least 85% performing clinical procedures and up to 15% performing administrative functions as needed.This is a network position and may require assignments at multiple locations. This position reports to the Diagnostic Network Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesOversees the team effort daily to insure efficient completion of all required department work within the appropriate time interval allotted.Effectively participates in the orientation and training of new employees and students.Oversees daily operation of Hospitals and Outpatient Sites and functions as the liaison for interdepartmental issues. Attends required meetings.Coordinates daily scheduling of Diagnostic radiology personnel including time off, vacations, holidays, on-call, etc.Collaborates with and recommends to the DR Network Supervisor and/or Sr. Director various personnel functions, including but not limited to hiring promotion/discipline, transfers and performance appraisals, and competency assessments.Observes and monitors observance of CHA and department policies, procedures and protocols and ensures staff knowledge and adherence.Demonstrates ability to effectively and positively motivate and influence staff to achieve organization/department goals and objectives.QualificationsEducation: Associates degree and/or graduate of Accredited Radiologic Technology Program Current Massachusetts state licenseCertification: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Current Heart Saver or BLS certificationExperience: 3-5 years of broad technical experience with demonstrated leadership abilitiesOther Skills: Ability to deal efficiently, ethically and courteously with all hospital personnel. Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with patient as well as a variety of medical and technical personnel
