Job SummaryTITLE: EL Resource TeacherSTATUS: ExemptQUALIFICATIONS: StateCertification in K-12 EducationState Certification in K-12 EL EducationBilingual/Spanish preferredEMPLOYMENT: Nine monthsREPORTS: PrincipalsPTRC CoordinatorFederal Programs DirectorSUPERVISOR: PTRC Coordinator DirectorJOB GOALS: Supplement the basic educational program for the EL students and to ensure that they achieve high standardsin core subjects.PERSONAL QUALITIES:Behaves ethically and refrains from disclosing information of a confidential natureDemonstrates consistent integrity, dependability, reliability, and professionalismMaintains speech, appearance, and behavior, which are professionally appropriateDemonstrates a supportive attitude toward the school programs PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Works with the school principals, counselors, classroom teachers, Title I Resource Teachers, and parents designing and/or implementing researched-based materials to meet the needs of LEP studentsAssist the regular classroom teacher in identifying EL student's academic strengths and weaknesses in core subjectsCorrelates EL student educational materials and services with the regular classroom instruction to ensure academic success of EL studentsAssist teachers with EL modificationsOrders supplemental educational research-based materials from the Title I Parent Center for EL studentsProvides feedback of the success of the researched-based instructional materials used in the programEnrolls EL students, communicates with non-English speaking parents and interprets school forms/policies into the parent's home languageServes as the school liaison for the EL community making home visits, and assisting the EL Parent LiaisonProvides supplemental instruction for LEP studentsMaintains daily records, notes of activities and vital information on each EL students for end of the year evaluationAssists with professional development for classroom teachers and other school staff relative to EL policies, procedures and instructional strategies
