This role ensures accurate preparation of export documentation, proper handling of hazardous materials, and effective communication with freight forwarders to facilitate timely and compliant shipments. This position does not include export licensing or Global Trade Compliance (GTC) responsibilities.Work ShiftMonday through Friday8:00 am to 4:30 pmPrepare and process all required export documentation, including but not limited to:Commercial Invoices (CI)Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI)Certificates of Origin (COO)Certificates of Export and other supporting documentsComplete and submit AES (Automated Export System) filings accurately and in a timely mannerCoordinate and schedule international shipments with approved freight forwarders and carriersEnsure shipments comply with all applicable export shipping requirements and regulations (excluding licensing/GTC scope)Properly classify, package, label, and document hazardous materials shipments (e.g., lithium batteries) in accordance with IATA, IMDG, or other relevant standardsVerify accuracy of shipment details, including weights, dimensions, harmonized codes (if applicable), and destination requirementsMaintain shipment records and documentation for audit and compliance purposesCommunicate effectively with internal teams (warehouse, customer service, order management) to ensure shipment readiness and accuracyTroubleshoot and resolve shipment issues, delays, or documentation discrepancies2+ years of experience in export shipping, logistics, or international transportationStrong working knowledge of export documentation and AES filing requirementsExperience working with freight forwarders and international carriersFamiliarity with hazardous materials shipping regulations (IATA/IMDG preferred)High attention to detail and accuracy in documentationStrong organizational and time management skillsProficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)Experience shipping hazardous goods such as lithium batteriesKnowledge of international shipping best practices and country-specific requirementsPrior experience in a regulated industry (life sciences, manufacturing, etc.)This role focuses strictly on export execution and documentationExport licensing, denied party screening, and trade compliance oversight are handled by GTC and are not part of this roleAbility to work in a warehouse and office environment, including standing and walking for extended periodsAbility to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs with or without assistanceFrequent use of hands for handling, packaging, labeling, and preparing shipmentsAbility to operate standard warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts) as neededAbility to read and review detailed shipping documentation on screens and paperOccasional bending, stooping, and reaching to access materials and prepare shipmentsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities and deadlinesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferredRelevant work experience in export shipping, logistics, or international transportation may be considered in lieu of formal educationExport Documentation Expertise – Strong understanding of required export documents (CI, SLI, COO, certificates) and their accurate preparationRegulatory Awareness – Working knowledge of export shipping requirements and regulations (excluding licensing/GTC scope)AES Filing Proficiency – Ability to accurately complete and submit Automated Export System (AES) filingsHazardous Materials Handling – Knowledge of proper classification, packaging, labeling, and documentation for hazardous goods (e.g., lithium batteries) in accordance with IATA/IMDG standardsAttention to Detail – High level of accuracy in preparing documentation, labeling shipments, and verifying shipment dataCoordination & Communication – Ability to effectively work with freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment executionTime Management & Prioritization – Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProblem Solving – Ability to identify and resolve shipping issues, delays, or documentation discrepanciesSystems & Technical Skills – Proficiency in ERP systems, shipping software, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)Organization Skills – Strong ability to maintain accurate records and manage documentation efficientlyCompensationWhat We Offer:Competitive PayPerformance-related bonus where eligibleAnnual merit performance-based increaseExcellent BenefitsMedical benefitsPaid Time Off/Annual LeaveEmployee Referral BonusCareer Advancement OpportunitiesCompensation And BenefitsThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $18.54–$27.81.This Position May Also Be Eligible To Receive a Variable Annual Bonus Based On Company, Team, And/or Individual Performance Results In Accordance With Company Policy.
