As a team, we are committed, inspired, and connected to make a difference in the community.What You Will DoAre you ready to support the educational mission of the Carroll County Farm Museum? As a Museum Docent, you will conduct tours in period attire. Using role play and storytelling techniques, you will present the life of a rural farm family in the 19th Century as well as a brief synopsis of Carroll County Almshouse history. You will use your specialized knowledge of 19th Century rural farm life, the Gilded Age lifestyle, and Carroll County history from the 1850s to early 1900s to create an engaging educational experience for visitors.Essential DutiesConduct guided tours of the farmhouse for groups of students and adults.Provide visitors with an engaging educational experience using role play and storytelling techniques.Maintain knowledge of both permanent and temporary special exhibits.Support Curator with installing and maintaining exhibits. Assist with exhibit research, as neededAssist students and teachers with lessons for educational programs and camps.Follow all established safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities.
