Turret Punch Press Operator
Description:
To work alongside the laser team at QuikCut; cutting on a wide variety of products. Turret operators must be able to run the machine as well as be prepared to sort, clean and pull parts from the skeleton. All operators must meet high expectations and standards set by QuikCut, and providing quality work while completing forming projects in an efficient amount of time.

Major Responsibilities:
Plan all setups, call of proper programs for each project and check setup sheet with turret station board to determine tool placement needs to perform operations such as punching, embossing, notching, forming and shearing.
Load tools in tool holders and index as indicated by the tool sheet.
Set material holders in proper position on table in accordance to the program.
Run a sample part and check dimensions and operations performed against the blueprint. Adjust tool positions or replace tools as necessary.
Operate machine, load and unload parts following machine cycle, check work for required operations and specifications and place finished parts on skid.
Monitor machine for proper operation, add oil to reservoir and replace tools as necessary.
Prepare job tickets, scrap and daily production records.
Notify Group Leader of unusual machine or material problems.
Stack and move material as required.
Be able to efficiently read blueprints and drawings from designers and engineers.
a. Be able to read and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
Perform typical laser cutting operations
Be able to select the proper cutting program with the project as well as proper fixtures
Set up the laser machine appropriate for cutting operations
Establish a proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal points when necessary
Perform all dimensional inspections
Detect and report all defective material or questionable conditions to the supervisor and or quality
Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specification.
Measure the final product to ensure uniformity according to the blueprint.
Restock materials needing to be run through the laser, or stack completed materials in the appropriate area.
Perform routine maintenance on the machine and log it.
Maintains a clean and organized work area (5S).
Physical Requirements: prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying materials.
a. Must be able to lift 25 – 90 pounds at a time.
Additional Responsibilities:
Use an air grinder or similar tool to clean parts
Other duties as assigned
