Civil Engineer Estimator

Job Summary Reid & Reid Construction is looking for Engineering graduates with 6+ months of post-grad experience to join our Land Development team. Duties Perform site development engineering and project management tasks for a variety of projects Projects will include a variety of land development site designs In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, project management, cost estimating, and preparation of bid packages as well as technical specifications As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and receive both on the job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions Review and understand proposals, estimates, plans, specifications, permits, and related documents: analyzing labor, material, equipment, and time requirements. Collaborate and coordinate with estimators, superintendents, operations manager, equipment manager on project management-materials, internal crews, subcontractors Maintain continuous communication with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Work with superintendents regarding timely, proper and safe operation and maintenance of equipment Maintain project records on a daily basis, create project schedules and work orders, meet with owners and professionals as required Qualifications Experience in Civil Engineering Knowledge in Autocad, Trimble Business Center & Proest Ability to extensively understand engineered drawings, blueprints. Aptitude with computers, internet, MS Office, Excel A valid driver's license Strong organizational, professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Easily adaptable to changes in a technology - driven environment Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or + 3 years of relevant experience Sound understanding of safety guidelines Knowledge of scheduling crews, subcontractors, and materials Must have extensive experience with site development, including (take offs on Civil Sites, Erosion, Clearing, Grading, Sewer, Storm, Water, Retaining Walls and Curb & Paving) If you are passionate about civil engineering and eager to contribute to impactful projects, we encourage you to apply.
