POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping Lift Operator role plays a vital part in the success of Paragon Films by properly loading customer shipments properly and accurately which ensures the customer receives an accurate, secure order. This role continues to learn and expand on departmental processes and procedures and begins to them into practice while still working closely with the Shipping Lead and Manager. The primary responsibility is to operate a forklift to ensure the complete the accurate staging of product and to load and unload trucks. This role must be knowledgeable in and follow all procedures needed to ensure the proper safe and efficient operations of their department. Position works under established guidelines and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Trains to be able to work with an ERP system on the computer to pull and print pick sheets, packing slips, bills of
lading, shipping labels, shipment grid and material status, order status and other Shipping Department
documents
Safely and effectively operates a forklift in a warehouse environment with small spaces, loads accurately and
efficiently balanced truckloads with minimal supervision
Works to accurately pick and ship sample orders using the ERP system and the freight carrier system with
minimal supervision: assists in Samples area as needed
Collects and organizes pick sheets from the shipping office and use them to pick and stage product based upon
carrier and shipment number, verifies staged product, labels for shipment and scans and loads trucks as directed
by Shipping Lead or Management
Reports any discrepancies in inventory levels or skids scheduled for shipment to the Shipping Lead or
Management for corrective action
Safely and efficiently unloads inbound trucks, accurately verifies counts and product for inbound shipments
comparing received products with the packing slip, noting any discrepancies or damaged items, sign and date
delivery receipt, notifying management of any damage or discrepancies, submitting receipts to shipping office
for processing, stages and put away inbound product as required
Trains on performing tasks related to checking inventory levels in the ERP, accurately assists in counts of
assigned materials and product, assists in all inventory audits, including weekly raw material audits and month
end inventories
Trains and begins to gain understanding of the scanning process for finished goods as well as how to locate
products within the warehouse
Assist in all phases of housekeeping of the facility and maintain a neat and orderly work area
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY
Min 2 yrs relevant forklift experience with demonstrated proficiency and safety with success in passing Paragon
Films internal certification process
Ability to read and understand shipping documents and concepts
Ability to understand weight and load capacity
Ability to understand tasks associated loading/unloading trucks
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement while adapting to fast paced environment and rapid changes. Able to
juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail
Strong organizational skills combined with good problem-solving skills
Practice and promote teamwork within our organization
High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality with the ability to be on call as need for
maintenance issues
Understanding and ability to communicate using the English language in both written and spoken form or
willingness to take ESL classes
Basic computer skills with proficiency or ability to learn ERP systems and carrier software
Basic mathematic skills

Ability to use hands including fingers to hold, touch, see, feel, grip, squeeze, push, pull
Ability to perform pushing, pulling, forward exertion on a regular basis
Ability to have overhead extension with arms on a regular basis
Ability to use enhanced levels of manual dexterity with arms and hands to operate industrial power tools
occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk continuously on concrete floor for 12-hour shifts
Ability stand, crouch, stoop, bend and squat frequently
Ability to kneel occasionally
Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally
Ability to twist at the hip and waist area on a regular basis
Ability to rotate neck to look backwards, up, down and sideways on a regular basis
Ability to work on elevated platforms
Ability to climb on uneven surfaces occasionally.
Ability to regularly lift and or move 45-55 lbs.
Ability to must occasionally lift and or move up to 65lbs
Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over paging system
Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
