Role And ResponsibilitiesThe Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and implementing best accounting practices. This role involves supervising accounting staff, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, managing the cost accounting process, and supporting audits.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring professional development and high performanceConduct training sessions on accounting principles, company policies, and financial toolsSupervise 1-2 Accounting Analyst / Clerk and their AR/AP and transactional dutiesDuties/ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAPManage the accounts payable processManage the accounts receivable and collections processResponsible for the month-end and year-end closing processesManage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accuratelyMaintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize riskWork with management in the development of annual budgets and financial forecastsManage the cost accounting process, monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, and material usage to identify cost-saving opportunities.Track and manage accounting for capital projectsConduct variance analysis (e.g., standard vs. actual costs) and provide insights to improve operational efficiency.Develop high level expertise in the company’s Oracle NetSuite ERP systemDevelop internal cost analyses and other tools to provide management with meaningful and timely information to analyze and improve operational performanceCollaborate with operations, supply chain, and production teams to optimize cost efficiencyServe as the primary contact with the company’s independent accountants and manage the company’s annual audit review .Partner with insurance brokers and provide the necessary informationTimely payment of all income taxes, sales and use taxes, employment taxesEnsures compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations and requirementsSupport the vision, mission and guiding principles of the ProVeyance GroupOther duties as assignedQualifications And Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
