Position Summary We have an immediate opening for a Special Programs Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and evaluating program support services for English Language (EL), Gifted & Talented (GT), and McKinney-Vento (MKV) students across a multi-state online school network, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal laws, standards, and objectives. To be successful, you’ll need to be a detail-oriented, initiative taker. We need a broad thinker who can make suggestions, take constructive feedback with a good attitude and without pushback, and then go out and personally execute with diligence. You’ll leverage your knowledge and abilities through planning, designing, and implementing all phases of EL, GT, and MKV support provided by the school staff and school partners while serving as a resource to customers, school personnel, and the broader community. This position is full-time and based work from home. Job Duties Serve all stakeholders with integrity, humility, and joy while consistently modeling the importance of both task competency and relationships; Participate in Company events, activities, and meetings with a smile and an infectious, great attitude; Design and deliver special program services that meet internal objectives while staying up-to-date on relevant district, state, and federal policies to ensure compliance; Review student enrollment documents and use proper placement methods to ensure accurate and timely service delivery; Maintain Student Information System (SIS) records to ensure students are receiving general education accommodations; Work collaboratively with staff and families to plan, develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate educational services and programs; Coordinate placement assessments and ensure delivery of program specific notifications, documents, and progress reports to each family; Train teachers and other colleagues on best practices and compliant communications, messaging, assignment accommodations, and instructional approaches that best serve students in special programs; Engage with students and parents to address and resolve any questions or concerns about their special program implementation, documentation, or support; Personally review and reconcile invoices for translation services and submit to accounting; Supervise a team of Paraprofessionals and Teaching Assistants to ensure their time is spent in aligned activities that support the goals and objectives of the special services programs; Implement and monitor quality of approved programming for EL, GT, and MKV; Compile programmatic data to inform administration of program strengths and challenges for continuous improvement; Audit student accommodations monthly and establish feedback loops that lead to enhanced compliance and user experience; Monitor, compile, and enter timely state assessment accommodations for special services students into appropriate systems (e.g., College Board, Pearson) and; All other duties as assigned. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to consistently lead and serve others with humility, kindness, empathy, and joy; Knowledge of EL, GT, and MKV law, practices, and the ability to align programs to best practices and requirements; Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Ability to manage personnel and programs; Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and to meet deadlines; Proven ability to simplify complex situations; Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to Company changes; Strict attention to detail; and Ability to proctor off-site student testing in accordance with assessment requirements and Company best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred; Ability to obtain Teacher licenses in Colorado, Arizona, and Washington required; active Teacher licenses in Colorado, Arizona, and Washington preferred; EL certification required; Principal or Administrator certification or completion of an approved Principal or Administrator preparation program at an institute of higher education preferred; Minimum of three (3) years of Special Programs experience required; Minimum of one (1) year of online teaching experience required; three (3) or more years preferred; Minimum of one (1) year of school leadership experience required; three (3) or more years preferred; Strong experience with Mac OS, Google Workspace, and Asana preferred; and Ability to pass required background checks.
