Psychiatry - EmPath, ED Consult, Inpatient (Casual)

Psychiatrist OpportunityUniversity of Minnesota Physicians is seeking an experienced psychiatrist interested in casual shifts in a variety of settings in our health system. Shifts are available on the following services: EmPath (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) practice at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital Emergency Consult Team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center Inpatient Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. In This Role, You Will: Join a team of multidisciplinary mental health specialists, including psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, licensed therapists, and psychiatric nurses. Determine the best level of care for patients, provide acute treatment for occurring crisis and assist with discharge planning when needed. Work closely with ED providers in supporting the mental health patients in the ED. Provide consultative support to the medical patients on-site and other facilities via telemedicine. Completes comprehensive substance use disorder assessment. Provides basic alcohol and opioid withdrawal treatment. Schedule: Casual Day, evening and weekend shifts (6,8, or 12-hour shifts) No Call Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ACGME Psychiatry training program. Board eligible/certified with the ABMS. Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges. Compensation: Casual rate of pay is $163/hr.
