Working out of the Roseville office, this Biologist position has the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with 4 days in the office or out in the field and 1 work-from-home day per week.A Day in the Life of a BiologistAs a Biologist with HELIX, your days will be dynamic-one day conducting aquatic resource mapping or special-status species surveys, another day drafting biological technical reports or regulatory permit applications. On another day you could be helping establish a mitigation preserve with special-status species (e.g., California tiger salamander, vernal pool fairy shrimp). The Biologist works both independently and collaboratively, balancing fieldwork, data analysis, and report writing while contributing to project success. The Biologist will have the opportunity to be mentored by a principal biologist who specializes in regulatory permitting and mitigation establishment. The opportunity to grow is endless.What You'll DoLead or assist with biological surveys, vegetation mapping, and jurisdictional delineationsConduct and lead construction and restoration monitoringPrepare and review biological technical reports and CEQA/NEPA documentationSupport wetland permit applications and regulatory coordinationMaintain accurate field notes, maps, and project documentationAssist with proposals, business development, and project deliveryTravel overnight occasionally as requiredCompensation: $37-$45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
