26-27 Applicant Pool - Assistant Principal HERTFORD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: ASSISTANT PRINCIPALGENERAL STATEMENT OF JOBThe assistant principal serves as a member of the administrative team to develop and implement the total school program, and to share with the principal the leadership responsibility of promoting the educational development of each student at the school.REPORTS TO: PrincipalSUPERVISES: School staff, students, and programs as may be designated by the principalESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssist the principal in the overall administration of the schoolAssist in the instructional support, observation, and evaluation of staffAssist in the coordination of staff development activities and budget for staff developmentServe as curriculum coordinator working with principal and faculty in all areas of curriculum developmentAssist in the development and implementation of plans for continuous assessment of the present instructional programWork with principal, faculty, guidance, and community in planning and implementing new and innovative programs advocated by research on effective instructionCoordinate curriculum integrationAssist in the scheduling of studentsAssist principal with student management and disciplineAssist with planning and incorporation of technology in the instructional programAssist the principal in working with business and civic partnershipsAssistant Principal - Page 2Assist principal, faculty, and district-level staff to develop, implementing, and evaluating grantsAssist in promoting positive home/school/community relationsContribute to positive public relations for the schoolAssist in the implementation of shared decision-making at the school levelAssist in the implementation of the District's Five-Year PlanParticipate in the district's curriculum council/meetingsOther duties as assigned by the principal to assist in the continued successful operation of the schoolMINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Master's degree in Education Administration, 3 to 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess a teaching certificate from the State of North Carolina.
