We advise domestic and international insurers and reinsurers on complex coverage and monitoring matters at the forefront of emerging risk.The OpportunityOur Technology, Media & Privacy practice group is seeking a full-time paralegal to support attorneys primarily based in our San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. The team represents insurers that issue policies covering technology, cyber/data breach, privacy, and related risks.This role is well suited for someone with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position may be based in either our San Francisco or Los Angeles office.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct legal, factual, court docket, and records researchOrganize, analyze, cross-check, and validate information and documentationPrepare written reports and draft legal documents, including briefs, appeals, contracts, legal agreements, and correspondence for attorney reviewReview legal forms and documents for accuracy and completenessMaintain detailed electronic case files and recordsReview correspondence from clients, vendors, insureds, and retail/wholesale brokers to take appropriate action and monitor file statusCommunicate with clients, vendors, insureds, and retail/wholesale brokers regarding inquiries and requests, including loss runsDraft and maintain claims bordereauxReview vendor invoices for reasonableness and compliance with insurer guidelinesMeet annual billable hour target of 1,200 hoursParalegal QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of paralegal experienceBachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of legal experience, or a paralegal certificate/degree from an accredited college or university, or certification from an ABA-approved paralegal programStrong knowledge of legal principles, legal research methods, legal terminology, and applicable government regulationsExcellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookAbility to work with databases and online technology platformsDetail-oriented, diligent, adaptable, and highly organizedAbility to manage competing priorities and work effectively with multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environmentAbility to always maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalismWork Location and ScheduleAtheria supports flexible working arrangements, including remote work when appropriate. The salary offered will be determined by a range of factors including but not limited to experience level, relevant skills, and location of position.
