Licensed Practical Nurse LPN

We are hiring for the following: Position: Licensed Practical Nurse Schedule : 7p-7a Location : Piedmont Regional Jail Pay Rate : starting at $33 (commensurate with experience) Sign On Bonus : $5,000 Responsibilities: * Work closely with the center's physician in providing proper medical care for patients * Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders * Provide emergency medical assistance * Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports * Assist the center's Physician in conducting sick call * Administer medicine dosage and treatment per Physician's orders * Maintain control of all medications and drugs on hand in accordance with policies and procedures * Ensure that policies and procedures regarding the Medical Department are followed * Complete reports and medical forms * Ensure medical office is clean and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered * Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications * Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program leading to licensure with the ability to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse * High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older * Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Licensed Practical Nurse license * Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center * Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved) * Combination of education and experience equivalent to these qualifications may be substituted Benefits * Benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for you and your family * Employer-paid Life insurance policy/AD&D, long-term disability and short-term disability * Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Plan * CEUs paid for by MEDIKO * Generous paid time off including 10 Holidays * Participation in the MEDIKO retirement plan * Employee Assistance Program Please visit our website at www.MEDI KO .com to learn more about opportunities with us!
