Cloud Security Engineer
Overview
In this role you secure Motorola Solutions’ Cloud Public Safety SaaS platform across AWS, Azure and GCP, ensuring compliance with CJIS, FedRAMP, and other standards. You work with a world-class security team to implement proactive vulnerability controls and automate cloud security tasks. You’ll collaborate across teams to strengthen security posture while evolving with evolving cloud technologies. This position offers meaningful impact by safeguarding mission-critical systems used by public safety and government customers.

ResponsibilitiesMonitor and assess cloud security posture across AWS, Azure and GCPDeploy and maintain security capabilities (CNAPP, vulnerability detection, WAF, firewalls)Develop automation for self-verification of security functions and automate inventory/alertingSupport compliance assessments for standards like NIST 800-53, OWASP, GDPR, ISO, SOC 2Collaborate on detection rules and assist with incident response (may serve as Incident Coordinator)Provide continuous improvement suggestions to enhance overall security posture
Key requirements5+ years of experience as a Cloud Security / DevSecOps Engineer with strong cloud platform and cybersecurity backgroundU.S. Citizen and able to obtain government background clearanceUnderstanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP; cybersecurity and compliance concepts (NIST, ISO, FedRAMP)Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field (preferred)Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containers; programming/scripting in Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, Bash, or Azure CLICI/CD/DevOps knowledge (Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions) and Git version controlBasic Linux administration and familiarity with Elastic stackKnowledge of network protocols, topologies, and firewall/WAF configurationquick learningcollaboration and incident coordinationproblem-solving and initiativeAWS, Azure, GCPCNAPPVulnerability detection
