Job Title: Senior Python DeveloperLocation : New York, NY(Hybrid)Job Type : Contract (W2 Only) Interview Mode – Final round is In -Person Local Candidates only.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join the Global Risk Analysis Technology team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled developer with strong expertise in Python, data engineering, APIs, and relational databases, along with experience supporting enterprise-grade risk and analytics platforms.The team supports critical business functions through application development, platform enhancements, and ongoing production support in a global Agile environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable solutions that support risk analysis, liquidity frameworks, regulatory processes, and enterprise data operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain ETL pipelines and Python-based data quality frameworks based on business and regulatory requirements.Manage and enhance the schema, integrity, and content of operational data stores and data warehouse systems across databases such as DB2, Sybase, and other relational platforms.Develop and support Python microservices and RESTful APIs for data distribution and system integration.Provide hands-on support for system issues, production incidents, and data alerts, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.Work closely with business stakeholders, external vendors, and global technology teams to gather requirements and deliver robust technical solutions.Support and enhance liquidity platforms, data processing workflows, and regulatory reporting processes.Participate across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirement analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.Create clear technical documentation and translate functional requirements into technical designs, Jira epics, and user stories.Contribute to best practices in coding, performance optimization, code reviews, and application support processes.Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across the team where needed.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline.9+ years of professional software development experience, with strong focus on Python development.Proven experience developing data-centric applications using Python, including APIs, microservices, and ETL solutions.Strong expertise in SQL and experience with relational databases such as DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, or Snowflake.Strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful services.Hands-on experience with Pandas DataFrame and FastAPI is required.Strong experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.Ability to troubleshoot production issues and support critical business applications.Strong communication skills with the ability to document requirements and transform them into scalable technical solutions.Preferred QualificationsExperience in the financial services industry, especially within investment management, risk systems, or analytics platforms.Exposure to cloud-based platforms is a plus.Java experience is an added advantage.Strong mathematical aptitude or understanding of financial quantitative calculations.Familiarity with portfolio analytics, including performance, attribution, and risk calculations, is highly desirable.Preferred Candidate ProfileStrong leadership mindset with the ability to take ownership of complex technical initiatives.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a globally distributed Agile team.Comfortable balancing development, support, and stakeholder interaction.Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
