Our team gives the opportunity to experience many facets of the Boeing Company in one place.Our Structures organization is seeking Structural Design Engineers with knowledge of design theory, engineering principles, and coordination skills.This role may require some travel to support our customers and provide learning experiences to enhance your career.Position Responsibilities:Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system designDevelop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycleDevelop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effortInvestigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirementsSome travel may be requiredAbility to work on-site 5 days per weekWork under general directionMay be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as neededBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences5+ years' experience in aircraft structure, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes5+ years’ experience with aircraft primary structures such as design, strength, fatiguePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDMExperience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)Experience in Airplane Design, Stress Analysis, Liaison Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering strongly preferredExperience with Boeing 7-Series Aircraft Primary StructuresStrong written, verbal communications and presentation skillsConflict Of Interest:Successful Candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict Of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
