Electrical Engineer

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical electrical infrastructure for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in electrical power systems, redundancy architectures, power distribution, and data center design standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.This role provides technical leadership for electrical engineering design, construction support, commissioning, and operational optimization of critical facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Design & DevelopmentLead the electrical design of data center facilities, including:Utility service entrance systemsMedium-voltage and low-voltage power distributionUPS systemsBackup generator systemsSwitchgear and switchboardsPDUs and RPPsGrounding and bonding systemsLighting and emergency power systemsDevelop single-line diagrams, load studies, short-circuit analyses, coordination studies, and arc flash assessments.Ensure designs meet Tier III/Tier IV reliability requirements and client performance objectives.Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents for quality and compliance.Project LeadershipServe as the lead electrical engineer on multiple data center projects.Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, networking, and construction teams.Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.Construction & CommissioningSupport equipment procurement and factory witness testing.Review submittals and respond to RFIs.Participate in site inspections and construction quality reviews.Lead electrical commissioning activities and troubleshooting.Support startup and operational readiness programs.Compliance & StandardsEnsure compliance with:NECNFPAIEEENETAANSILocal building codesApply industry best practices related to uptime, resiliency, and energy efficiency.Support sustainability initiatives and energy optimization efforts.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.8+ years of electrical engineering experience.5+ years of experience designing or supporting mission-critical facilities or data centers.Strong knowledge of:Electrical power distribution systemsUPS technologiesGenerator systemsProtection and controlsCommissioning practicesExperience with electrical analysis software such as:ETAPSKM PowerToolsEasyPowerProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
