Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport and Exercise Science
The Area of Sport and Exercise Science at Milligan University invites applications for the full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport and Exercise Science with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. Reporting to the Area Chair of Sport and Exercise Science, this position teaches undergraduate courses in sport and exercise science including Principles of Training, Measurement and Evaluation in Exercise Science, and other courses directly related to a strength and conditioning curricular focus. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, possibly overseeing internships and fieldwork, and committee responsibilities as assigned by the university.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have obtained the NSCA’s CSCS certification and have a Ph.D. in an exercise science-related field. ABD candidates will be considered depending on experience and fit within the department. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, have expertise in the area(s) of exercise science, sport science, and/or strength and conditioning, and be prepared to engage in sport science activities in support of Milligan athletics. A desire and ability to integrate faith and learning in a liberal arts environment is essential. Successful candidates should also demonstrate a strong Christian faith and commitment to Milligan’s mission as a Christian liberal arts university.
