QA Coordinator

Job Description Summary:Aviagen is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of QA Coordinator at our Sallisaw, OK. Hatchery. This position will be primarily responsible for ensuring all hatchery operations meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role oversees quality control processes related to egg handling, incubation, hatching, chick processing, sanitation and biosecurity. The coordinator works closely with all Team Leaders, members, Supervisors, and Management to monitor compliance, identify areas for improvement, and maintain accurate records to support animal health, chick quality, and operational efficiency. The applicant will be performing all work in compliance with the company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulation.Job Description:Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and enforce quality assurance programs across all hatchery operationsConduct routine inspections of egg storage, incubation, hatch processes, and chick handlingEnsure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., USDA, animal welfare guidelines)Maintain and review records related to hatchability, mortality rates, sanitation, and environmental conditionsDevelop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality and safetyTrain hatchery staff on QA protocols, biosecurity measures, and best practicesPerform internal audits and assist with external audits or inspectionsInvestigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsMonitor sanitation programs, including cleaning and disinfection proceduresCollaborate with hatchery management to improve efficiency and product qualityTrack key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for managementQualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Food Safety, Biology, or related field (preferred)2+ years of experience in quality assurance, poultry production, or hatchery operationsKnowledge of incubation systems, hatchery workflows, and chick quality standardsFamiliarity with biosecurity protocols and animal welfare standardsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze data and generate reportsExcellent communication and training skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office or similar data management systemsWork EnvironmentHatchery setting with exposure to noise, dust, feathers, and temperature variationsRequires adherence to strict biosecurity and sanitation protocolsMay involve standing, walking, lifting, and working around live animals and equipmentKey CompetenciesAttention to detailOrganizational skillsRegulatory compliance awarenessData analysisTeam collaborationContinuous improvement mindsetWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
