Role Description The County Treasurer is a full-time, on-site role based in Mount Sterling, KY. The Treasurer will manage the financial affairs of Montgomery County, handle the preparation and execution of budgets, and ensure compliance with state and federal financial regulations. This role oversees accounting records, prepares financial statements, facilitates audits, and supervises payroll and financial reporting. Collaboration with county officials, staff, and external stakeholders is a critical part of this position to ensure efficient resource allocation and financial transparency. Qualifications Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, auditing, and reconciliation processesProficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and payroll administrationAbility to analyze regulations and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelinesEffective communication, organizational, and leadership skillsExperience with governmental or public sector finance is highly desirableBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferredExperience with financial software and tools is a strong advantageCommitment to ethical practices, accuracy, and attention to detail
