3D Print Technician/Operator III

3D Print Technician/Operator IIICTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a 3D Print Technician/Operator III to support advanced manufacturing operations. This role combines hands-on additive manufacturing expertise with mechanical design, equipment troubleshooting, and process improvement responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience creating and testing 3D-printed components, operating 3D printing equipment, and supporting manufacturing processes in a controlled production environment. Location: Newton, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC. Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: High School Diploma required; Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred Key Responsibilities: Create, modify, print, and test 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks Operate and troubleshoot 3D printing equipment to support production needs Design and develop mechanical components for manufacturing applications Support equipment improvements, preventive maintenance, and reliability initiatives Monitor manufacturing processes and perform quality checks to ensure product specifications are met Analyze process data using SPC and MES systems to improve production efficiency, quality, and uptime Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on equipment optimization and process improvements Assist with new equipment installations, process transfers, and production scale-up activities Maintain compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing protocols Required Qualifications: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in 3D modeling, design, printing, and testing of mechanical components Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software and SolidWorks Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting 3D printing equipment Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation Experience with SPC, MES, and manufacturing process data analysis Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to follow detailed material handling and safety procedures Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting precision manufacturing or controlled production environments Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience/certification Experience with rapid production scale-up and process improvement initiatives Physical & Work Requirements: Ability to work on the manufacturing floor for extended periods Ability to wear required protective equipment and cleanroom garments for full shifts Manual dexterity required for precision component handling and equipment adjustments Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Additional Information: No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted CTG will consider for employment-qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
